Reggae legend Dennis Brown is to be honoured with a commemorative blue heritage plaque at the site of his former London home.

The ceremony, which takes place this Saturday 7 April, is being held as part of Reggae Focus 2012, organised by the Federation of Reggae Music (FORM), which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jamaican independence and reggae music in association with the Jamaica High Commission, Brent Council and Nubian Jak Academy.

The plaque will be unveiled at 3pm by the late singer's widow Yvonne and his brother at Hazeldene Road, his former London home in Harlesden.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the ceremony.

With hundreds of album releases to his name as well as thousands of recorded songs, Dennis Brown is recognised as one of the most prolific recording artists in music history.  FORM Chairman Delroy Washburn commented:  "Dennis Brown was Jamaica's most prolific recording artist - not even Bob Marley has recorded as many songs... In years to come I can imagine Dennis Brown's music being much sought after music art, in much the same way as Pablo Picasso's artwork is sought after today - Dennis Brown was a genius!''
