Clean Bandit, eighties pop legends Culture Club and Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker will all be performing as part of BBC Philharmonic Presents… 2014.

The concerts, which run 10 September to 17 October, will be broadcast in partnership with BBC North from Salford and the 90-piece BBC Philarmonic.

Highlights from the programme are expected to include a brand-new symphony based on classical-electro act Clean Bandit’s debut album, New Eyes.

Culture Club will revisit their album, Colour by Numbers, in a recording for Radio 2 while Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker will present a special edition of his award-winning Radio 4 series Wireless Night.

Bob Shennan, director of BBC Music, said: ‘These unique collaborations will bring together the internationally renowned BBC Philharmonic and globally acclaimed artists, showcasing some wonderfully diverse music to our audiences and engaging listeners across the country through our national radio networks. There will be something for everyone.’

Singer-songwriter John Grant will perform with the orchestra for BBC Radio 6 Music while Services No Longer Required, a WW1 soldier’s story told via the BBC Philharmonic and Salford Symphony Orchestra, will be the final concert.
