Female-identifying artists, bands and mixed gender groups are being invited to apply for the programme launched by Festival Republic, with partners including PRS Foundation, Music Managers Forum (MMF) and Record of the Day.

Successful applicants will receive a range of support including five days in a studio in Leeds with a top producer, a slot at a Festival Republic or Live Nation festival and additional support from ReBalance partners.

So far Æ MAK, Mary Miller, Projector, Lazy Day, Magick Mountain, Maya Kally, Tamzene, and The Van T’s have been supported by the programme and were all nominated by our network of independent music experts and ReBalance advisors.

ReBalance was launched as a three-year programme in 2018 to address gender imbalance in the music industry.

Artists and engineers are nominated by industry experts after which a selection panel shortlists and selects the successful candidates.

The selection panel changes over the year in line with availability and demand.

To express an interest eligible artists can submit a music link and some basic information, following which the ReBalance experts consider the music and a number of artists are then invited to apply alongside nominated artists.

The deadline to submit music is Monday 22 July 2019 at 6pm. Shortlisted artists will be contacted via email by Monday 5 August 2019.
