Edinburgh International Festival is calling on students from across the performing arts to apply for its Sir Ian McKellen Bursary.

Five grants of £2000 each will be awarded to Edinburgh-based students who are going to study in any discipline of the performing arts, including music, dance or drama.

Each bursary will be selected by a panel of senior Edinburgh International Festival and Scottish Drama Training Network staff.

They will be awarded on clear proof of need; the panel are looking for individuals who will feel the greatest possible impact on their studies from the support, and in turn, their future careers.

These one-off bursaries have been made possible by Sir Ian McKellan’s wish that proceeds generated by his performances at the Edinburgh International Festival be used to support local drama provision to benefit the community.

Your application must be submitted in written, audio or video format by 5 July.

For more info, and to apply, see the Edinburgh International Festival website.
