PRS for Music Foundation together with the PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund have unveiled the second year of the Lynsey de Paul Prize, a fund set up to support talented new female artists.
Recognising Lynsey’s passion for helping women in to the music industry, this career-developing prize was set up in 2015 to help emerging female singer-songwriters. Last year the fund helped four female singer-songwriters take the next step in their careers, including winner Emma McGrath.
Run by the PRS for Music Foundation, the UK’s leading charitable funder of new music and talent development, the winner of the Lynsey de Paul Prize will receive a £2,000 development bursary and mentorship with two runners up receiving a £500 development bursary.
Artists must make all submissions by Tuesday 2 August 2016. All applications must be made via the PRS for Music Foundation website with the winner announced on 1 September.
The prize remembers multi-award winning Lynsey’s huge contribution to the music industry and her dedication to supporting emerging female singer-songwriters.
She was a valued trustee of PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund and a longstanding PRS for Music board director.
