The Association of Independent Music’s (AIM) Sync Licensing conference is to return with Stranger Things music supervisor Nora Felder.
Taking place on 14 November, the event will see Nora, music supervisor for Californication, Roadies and Netflix Original hit Stranger Things, in a special keynote interview with Mute Song's David McGinnis.
A panel discussion will follow with speakers including Ariel Sommer, music supervisor (synch2it), Louisa Rainbird, creative manager, Television (The Music Sales Group), Vikram Gudi, founder (Elephant Music) and Sarah Giles, music supervisor (Wave Music).
Participants will discuss what makes a track suitable for sync, what sync agencies are looking for and what labels can do to make their music more ‘sync-able’.
The panel will then participate in a listening session, during which 10 tracks submitted by attending labels will be played, with the panel offering advice and suggestions on how they might be used and how to get them used.
The panel, chaired by Simon Raymonde of Bella Union, will then take part in a listening session, with 10 tracks played and discussed from those submitted by audience members.
All attending labels will be asked to submit one track to be considered for a shortlist of 10 that will be discussed in terms of their sync suitability.
