Rising stars London Grammar have been nominated in the Best Song Musically and Lyrically category for Strong, alongside Palma Violets’ Best of Friends and John Newman’s Love Me Again.
In the Best Contemporary Song category, Disclosure and Sam Smith’s Latch is up against previous Ivor Award nominees Everything Everything (for Kemosabe) and James Blake’s Retrograde.
Elsewhere, Arctic Monkeys’ AM and Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’ Push the Sky Away will go head to head in the Best Album category with newcomer Laura Mvula’s debut set Sing to the Moon.
Contenders for PRS for Music’s Most Performed Work accolade include Emeli Sandé’s Clown, Let Her Go by Passenger and Troublemaker by Olly Murs ft Flo Rida.
Wallfisch, an Emmy, Ivor Novello and multiple World Soundtrack Award-nominated composer and conductor, appears in the Best Television Soundtrack category.
At the ceremony, awards will also be presented to songwriters and composers in recognition of their contribution to British music.
These are International Achievement, Liftetime Achievement, Outstanding Song Collection, PRS for Music Outstanding Contribution to British Music; PRS for Music Special International Award, The Ivors Classical Music Award and The Ivors Inspiration Award.
The award for Songwriter(s) of the Year will also be presented.
The 59th Ivor Novello Awards take place on Thursday 22nd May from 11.30am to 4.30pm at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
The Ivors celebrate, honour and reward excellence in British and Irish songwriting and composing.
They are presented annually by BASCA and are judged by the songwriting and composing community.
PRS for Music has sponsored The Ivors since 1974.
