21 UK acts funded for SXSW this year

Twenty one acts including Seams, Fossil Collective and Luke Sital-Singh will be funded by British Music Abroad to attend South by South West next month.

The acts were selected by a panel of music industry experts and tastemakers from across radio, record labels, promoters and PR, and will receive financial support to travel and perform at the Austin, Texas showcase.

Cave Painting, China Rats, Dan Croll, Deaf Club, Eagulls, Fear of Men, Mary Epworth, Story Books, Syd Arthur, Tall Ships, Tropics, Virals, Wall, Joe Banfi, Dauwd, NO CEREMONY///, Nzca/Lines, SOHN complete the line-up.

While in Austin, British Music Abroad will be showcasing these acts across gigs at the British Music Embassy – a venue at SXSW dedicated to promoting the UK talent.

British Music Abroad is a partnership between PRS for Music Foundation, UK Trade & Investment, Arts Council England, British Underground and the Musicians’ Union (MU). It’s the first year the MU has been involved as a partner.

The programme has been designed to support UK acts to showcase to the international music industry, to help progress their recording and performing careers outside of the UK.
