M spent some time with Tony Moore - the creative spirit behind the eclectic selection of live music four nights a week music at The Bedford in Balham, which is a mecca for songwriters and lovers of new music alike.

Tony was also responsible for the legendary Kashmir Club, the long-running weekly gig that played host to artists such as Damien Rice, K T Tunstall, The Feeling, Imogen Heap and launched the careers of many more. Tony has now taken The Bedford experience to the South by Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas.

In part one of this exclusive interview, Tony tells us how he began his career in one of the world's biggest rock bands and the story behind his groundbreaking live music clubs.
