The Sundowners’ sunshine folk-rock is cut from the same cloth as Buffalo Springfield or The Byrds, echoing the warm timbre of Laurel Canyon or Greenwich Village circa 1969.

But this young quintet don’t hail from Woodstock or anywhere near; they’re Wirral natives who’re determined to bring a slice of the American musical vernacular to Merseyside.

Taking their moniker from a 1960 Western, they write songs of drama and dusty realism, blending folk, psych and classic rock to create a soundtrack worthy of any self-respecting Wild West film.

We were lucky enough to catch them on their last UK tour, when they called in to PRS for Music HQ in London to play us a stripped-back set.
