Welcome to our latest playlist, this week prepped by east London grime artist Ghetts.

This 30-year-old has enjoyed an ace 2014, going from underrated to proper pop star over the course of the last 12 months, thanks to the genius of his latest LP, Rebel With a Cause.

It hasn't always been an easy ride for Ghetts. He endured some troubled times as a teen and a stint behind bars before throwing himself into his music and joining the notorious N.A.S.T.Y crew.

Alongside the likes of Kano, Stormin’ and occasional guests Jammer and Wiley, Ghetts earnt a reputation as a fierce MC on the pirate airwaves of London’s east end and in underground raves.

He released a series of mixtapes including 2000 & Life, Ghetto Gospel, Freedom of Speech and The Calm Before The Storm and toured with the likes of Mike Skinner (The Streets) and Kano.

This year's Rebel With a Cause has been loved by fans and critics alike, earning him numerous plaudits including a gong for Hardest Working Band or Artist at the AIM Independent Music Awards.

Check out more about the man and his music in our exclusive playlist below. Here he's picked a selection of favourite classics including choice cuts from James Brown, Michael Jackson and Lauryn Hill...
