Welcome to this week's playlist. To mark today's launch of the EFG London Jazz Festival, we invited organisers Serious to compile some choice jazz cuts for our aural delectation.

This year's event runs across the capital from tonight (14 November) until 23 November and features many of the great and the good from the jazz world.

The first highlight is tonight's Jazz Voices concert. Led by composer and conductor Guy Barker, the concert will launch the festival with performances from a range of vocalists including Jacob Banks, Sachal and Kurt Elling perform alongside a 40-piece orchestra.

Other highlights from the programme include jazz vocalist Ian Shaw and his performance of 100 Years of British Song on 20 November at London’s Southbank. Ian will be joined by a multi-generational team of renowned singers and players to showcase the UK’s songwriting tradition as part of PRS for Music’s centenary celebrations. The festival will also see Blue Note Records, the label perhaps most synonymous with jazz legends past and present, celebrating 75 years.

Read our interviews with Guy Barker and Jacob Banks dig and into the Serious playlist below. It features the likes of Randy Weston, the Robert Glasper Experiment, Trish Clowes and Kris Bowers...
