Their debut album An Awesome Wave was a treasure trove of innovative electronica, super-slick production and classic indie songwriting, making it irresistible to judges at both the Mercury Music Prize and the Ivor Novello Awards.

They are renowned for their darkly disturbing videos, while their energetic live set has won them key slots at this summer’s Green Man, Bestival, Tramlines and the Parklife Weekender.

We caught up with the band after they’d picked up their Album Award at The Ivors to find out that they’ll be managing the pressure of the ‘difficult second album’ with endless rounds of sandwiches and pool games. We also learn why they like writing songs in the bathroom…
