Lianne La Havas made crashing waves with her 2012 album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, so it should come as no surprise that it was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award last month.

The 23-year-old's soulful debut was recognised by the wider music industry, also being nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2012 poll. Her music strikes a chord within almost everyone who listens to her; songs of love and loss are delivered in the voice of what sounds like a seasoned diva, all underpinned by grand piano and traditional folk instruments.

At the recent Ivor Novello Awards, we caught up with Lianne on the red carpet to find out about her influences and the strangest place she's ever written a song.
