‘Everything was a massive experiment’ - London duo Jungle are one of the most recent and exciting success stories for XL Recordings.

They may claim otherwise, but their career that has progressed so well thus far, you'd think it'd been calculated.

Josh and Tom are the nucleus of the band, a pair of childhood friends from Shepherd’s Bush who have steered their life-affirming music from mysterious studio project all the way to the Mercury Prize shortlist in 2014.

Their psychedelic take on colourful indie funk first emerged through a series of viral videos and promo shots before the band’s identity was properly unveiled on their hook up with XL.

Now they’ve expanded to a seven piece outfit, the group have been touring their debut LP relentlessly and are now aiming to head back into the studio to begin more writing.

They were at the AIM Awards to pick up the PPL Award for Most Played New Independent Act and we were on hand to quiz them on songwriting, working with XL and how they’ve achieved such success…
