London’s Brand New Heavies are one of the UK music’s most enduring phenomena, sophisticatedly surfing the edges of jazz, soul, disco and funk for the best part of the last two decades.

Initially emerging during the nineties, the group enjoyed a string of hits on both sides of the Atlantic including Dream Come True, Stay This Way and a cover of Midnight at the Oasis.

They’ve continued to show off a rich musical form, releasing music and selling out gigs and festivals across the world and showing no signs of slowing down their creative output just yet.

We caught up with founding members Simon Bartholomew and Andrew Love Levy at the recent Jazz FM Awards to discover why 2016 is shaping up to be their busiest year yet…

Watch our other interviews from this year's Jazz FM Awards including Cerys Matthews, Soweto Kinch and Binker and Moses.
