We caught up with her at The Great Escape last month to record her performing No Secrets to a packed crowd at Brighton's Komedia

WALL, aka producer and songwriter Lyla Foy, excels at mellow synth-pop in the vein of Au Revoir Simone or St Vincent. Her minimalist studio-based music is honest and featherweight, translating easily to the live environment where Lyla comes into her own as an understated performer in control of her sound.

She weaves songs around the thrum of drum machines and the drone of distant synths, drawing you in with whispered vocals and intimate conversation. Combining classic folk-based songwriting with a sound that’s very 2013, she has released a string of well received EPs on a number of British indie labels.

Lyla’s star has also been rising in the US since a couple of packed performances at South by South West earlier this year, where her ear sugar caught some local bloggers unawares.

We caught up with her at the PRS for Music Foundation showcase at The Great Escape last month to record her performing No Secrets to a packed crowd at Brighton's Komedia. Watch it here:
