Entitled Paused In The Moment, the album features leading single Fireworks which you may have heard on BBC 6 Music or XFM. If you're not familiar with the music of Van Susans, it sits somewhere within indie pop folk, with Chris Hawkins of BBC 6 Music describing their music as 'driving hook-laden glory'.

Although some of their music is much more up tempo, the band name Death Cab For Cutie as one of their influences, and this can be heard in some of their sadder folk songs. However, on the whole, the sound of Van Susans is one of indie pop folk that is extremely accessible and fun.

So accessible is their music that the band have gone from playing in small, local venues to sell-out gigs at the O2's IndigO2, a UK tour with The South (formerly The Beautiful South), a main stage set at South London's Leefest and plenty of airtime from BBC 6 Music, growing their fanbase on Facebook to a staggering 33,000 during the process.

Upcoming shows include BBC 6 Music's Chris Hawkins' Wagon All Dayer, an album launch at Camden's Barfly and a UK tour.

We were lucky enough to spend some time with Van Susans, when they came in and played a session for us last week. Have a listened to their new song Fireworks below, and look out for a further two songs later in the week!
