Psych-rock quintet TOY are quintessentially a classy pop outfit filtered through a hippy-trippy sonic time warp.

Lurking underneath the fog of guitars and retro synths lie canny hooks and melodies, which reign in their lurching echo into a cohesive package.

With two albums under their belts, and a third in gestation, they’re obviously a band who’re in it for the long haul, each time finding new ways to frame their atmospheric indie.

Earlier this week they headlined Club Attitude, bringing their sonic cathedrals to the Islington Assembly Hall, London, for Attitude is Everything’s annual charity bash. To celebrate the event, they also released a cover of Robert Wyatt's Free Will and Testament.

We went along to the sound check to catch the band in full flight. Watch them perform their track You Won’t Be the Same below.
