Deafkid have a sound that reaches into every corner of alt-pop, from indie to electronica, evoking comparisons to alt-J and Django Django.

The duo, one Englishman and one Frenchman, are seasoned professional musicians, having worked on Ghostpoet's debut album Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam, as well as supporting him live on stage.

Under the name Deafkid, the duo has produced slightly fuzzy, drum-laden electronica - of which you can experience for yourself in the first part of Deafkid's session - as well as slightly more tender, stripped back tracks that are reminiscent of Local Natives.

In the second part of their session for us, Deafkid played Talk, one half of their debut double A-side single Talk/Pig.

With moody guitar and crisp little synth pops, the duo's slightly off-kilter accented vocals brilliantly harmonise, creating a cinematic, eerie track.

Check it out for yourself below, and to find out more about Deafkid, be sure to read our 30 Seconds interview with them too. You can also enter our competition to win their limited edition luxury seven-inch vinyl single here.

Special thanks to sound engineer Cicely Balston for her technical support, Nick Keynes, co-founder of Tileyard Studios and Hinako Omori of Tape Club Records.
