Boxed In is the electro-pop brainchild of singer, songwriter and production whiz Oli Bayston.

Having cut his teeth in Manchester band Keith, followed by a techie spell at Dan Carey’s south London studio, his latest venture arrived earlier this year with the experimental exuberance of a safe pair of hands.

With a record collection obviously brimming with kosmiche and krautrock gems – plus a good dose of house classics – Oli’s debut album is a thrilling romp through the best bits of outsider electronics and motorik mayhem.

Add in frequent collaborations with Anita Blay (aka CocknBullKid), 2 Bears and Bonobo, plus production credits on Petite Noir’s impressive debut LP, and you’ve got a proper hit-maker on your hands.

Oli, plus live bandmates Liam Hutton, Jack Benfield and Mark Nicholls, recently played at the PRS for Music Presents… inaugural showcase in London.

We were on hand to catch the set. Watch him perform one of 2015’s most essential tracks, Mystery:
