M caught up with the very talented Claire Nicolson following her storming performance at the City Showcase festival.

Claire has been described by Ed Harcourt as 'Dusty Springfield weaned on acid folk rock that makes little children laugh and grown men weep' but essentially, Claire is a talented songwriter turns in spellbinding performances.

Nicolson won a place at the Royal Academy of Music in London but was soon drawn to rock'n'roll and was gigging by the age of 15.

Her collaboration with her brother Hugo Nicolson resulted in current single, the cinematic You & I. Her next single Summer Wine is out on 20 June.

Watch Claire's fantastic performance of Quiet Company, a song she wrote with Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, Jarvis Cocker, Carl Barât).

Please return tomorrow for another live performance and an exclusive interview.
