Charlie Simpson took time out to talk to M about the way he approaches songwriting, whether it's with his band Fightstar or on his new solo project Young Pilgrim.

Charlie's single Down Down Down is out now, with his debut solo album Young Pilgrim scheduled for realease in August 2011.
The Fightstar frontman's solo tour kicks off at King Tut's in Glasgow on 29 June. Charlie is also set to perform at three festivals this summer: Wakestock in North Wales, Relentless Boardmasters inNewquay and Harvest At Jimmy’s, Suffolk.
