PRS Foundation’s Resonate fund, which encourages repeat performances of new pieces, is calling on composers to register their works with the scheme’s database.
Resonate is managed by the Association of British Orchestras (ABO) and PRS Foundation, and encourages orchestras to programme the best British classical music compositions from the past 25 years.
Originally, only publishers and orchestras were asked to provide details of suitable works, but Resonate is now inviting composers to submit their works.
Works must have been first performed on or after 1 January 1991 by an ABO member orchestra, be scored for 12 players or more and be written by a British composer who is a member of PRS for Music or is in a position to join.

The deadline for submissions is midday on 21 February.
PRS Foundation launched Resonate in 2016 in partnership with the ABO and BBC Radio 3 to inspire orchestras to revisit pieces which would potentially strengthen their contemporary repertoire programming.
Support of up to £10,000 is now available to British orchestras who want to rehearse, programme, tour or promote a piece of music from the Resonate database.
Recipients so far have included Thomas Ades’ In Seven Days, Judith Weir’s Winter Song, Gavin Higgins’ Velocity and David Sawer’s The Greatest Happiness Principle.
