Changes to joining process due to COVID-19

If you’re applying for a PRS writer membership, we’re now temporarily accepting applications by email.

After you’ve applied, you’ll receive an automated confirmation email with a copy of your application. Please forward this on, with a copy of your ID, to admissions@prsformusic.com

Please do not post your paper application to our offices at this time.

We’ll process your application and let you know your membership number (CAE/IPI) number so you can log into our website and register your music with us.

We’ll still need a signed copy of the paper application form posted to us and we will email you to let you know when to send this in. Please note that any royalties earned before we have this physical copy with your signature will be placed on hold.


Your application form should take up to 15 minutes to complete and needs to be finished in one sitting.

Please have the following information ready before you begin:

  • debit or credit card
  • passport, birth certificate or driving licence.

Also, please make sure you have a reliable connection to the internet as we won’t be able to save your progress. You will need to complete your application by posting a hard copy within six months, otherwise it may be cancelled with no refund.
