What you need to join MCPS
The Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society (MCPS) collects royalties for members when their music is reproduced. You can join MCPS as a publisher if the music in your catalogue has been:
- commercially released by a record company
- recorded and used by a radio or TV programme
- recorded and used for an audio-visual or multimedia production
- used online
One-off membership fee
This is £400, inclusive of VAT, please contact email@example.com with the subject line ‘Membership Fee: Wire Transfer Details’ for details on how to pay.
When posting your application, please have your full application signed and completed, with the required supporting documentation along with proof of your payment. Not providing all the required supporting documentation will result in a delay in the processing of your application.
Documents needed to support your application
You will need documentation that confirms the reproduction of your works and details of the bank account where your royalties will be paid. See the table below.
Sole traders will need a high-quality photocopy of your birth certificate and passport or driving licence.
Partnerships will need a photocopy of your partnership agreement, plus a high-quality photocopy of each partner’s birth certificate and passport or driving licence.
Limited companies will need a high-quality photocopy of your Certificate of Incorporation, plus a copy of your Memorandum and Articles of Association.

|1. Reproduction of the artwork for the recording, clearly indicating that you have a writer or publisher credit.
2. Letter from the record company on their headed paper, confirming that they have released a recording that features your music.
