The Internet Radio Licence is designed to fit the way your station operates. Whether you're a subscription service, ad-supported, not-for-profit, or mainly a speech-based station, we've got you covered.
Who it's for:
All online radio stations broadcasting to UK listeners, including:
If your service already holds a PPL and PRS for Music Joint Community Radio Licence, or a PRS for Music Commercial Radio Licence, the online simulcast is already covered; therefore, you do not need an Internet Radio Licence for that service.
Shaped in consultation with broadcasters and rights holders, this licence reflects how audiences listen today.
How are fees calculated?
Fees are based on how your service is funded and how listeners access your content. This means smaller, community-run stations pay a different rate to large commercial platforms, and speech stations with limited music use are also covered.
Starting fees begin at £193+ VAT for the year, with charges calculated according to your reported revenue and service category.
