What does PRS for Music charge?

PRS for Music is a society of songwriters, composers and music publishers. We license organisations to play, perform or make available copyright music on behalf of our members and overseas societies. After deducting the costs of running our organisation, all the income we receive from our licensees is distributed back to members.

Rates apply to income for the calendar year, which is distributed between July and April. The rates are effective from April 2014.

A charge of £125 per country per tour (or the applicable percentage rate for that country, whichever is lower), will be introduced on overseas performance income utilising the PRS for MusicLive Concert Service.
