Following an announcement by the Office of National Statistics we are amending certain tariffs.
Many of our public performance tariffs are adjusted annually, based on a calculation using the Average Earnings Index (AEI) measure. The publication of AEI is being discontinued. PRS for Music intends to replace the use of this figure with the equivalent Average Weekly Earnings measure.
The Office of National Statistics (ONS) has announced that the Average Earnings Index (AEI) measure will no longer be published from November 2010. Average Weekly Earnings, which the ONS feel provides a better indication of short term wage changes, have been calculated from January 2000. Full details of the differences between the two data sets may be found on the ONS website (www.statistics.gov.uk).
Please see below for a list of the tariffs concerned, with details of the textual changes that are being made as from 1 January 2011.
While these changes are unavoidable, following decisions made by the Office of National Statistics, if you have any questions or concerns about these changes please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that we have also taken the opportunity to simplify and standardise some of the wording but this does not affect the way the inflation adjustment is calculated.
As this is a minor change, we are notifying trade bodies and placing a notice on our website. Notices will not be issued to individual customers.
