PPL & PRS for Music’s joint licence for Nurseries, Playgroups, Pre-Schools and Crèches takes effect from 1 September 2016.
Music can be a powerful tool, encouraging children to express themselves whilst having fun and learning. We believe musical activities also inspire children to be active and involved which helps promote confidence.
PPL and PRS for Music have teamed up to simplify music licensing for nurseries, playgroups, pre-schools and crèches, by offering a joint licence available online through PPL.
The joint licence covers a wide variety of music uses within your premises, including extra-curricular dance and movement classes (for example, mummy and baby yoga), fetes and fairs, child minding services, film and cartoon showings, extra-curricular external musicians, breakfast/holiday clubs, parent evenings/open days, general background music and telephone systems’ music on hold.

If you are already licensed by either PPL or PRS for Music you will be transferred to the new joint licence once your current licence expires. Visit the frequently asked questions for more information on how this will happen and what you need to do.
New customers can apply for a joint licence online from 1 September 2016.
The combined PPL and PRS for Music licence will cost a flat rate of £80 per year (plus VAT). Please read the FAQs below before purchasing your licence.
