MCPS Scotland licenses mechanical (reproduction) rights and pays mechanical royalties in Scotland.
MCPS acts on behalf of members to negotiate agreements with those who wish to record or copy music. Our work ensures copyright owners are paid royalties when their music or compositions are used. Licensing operations and distribution of royalties are controlled centrally by our Head Office in London, but for advice on licensing in Scotland, please contact our MCPS Scotland Office.
Read further information on MCPS licensing.
Our office in Scotland regularly liaises with industry groups such as Creative Scotland, Highland and Islands Enterprise, Scottish Music Industry Association, and the Musicians’ Union.
Our priority is to ensure members are rightfully paid for the use of their work. We organise regular workshops, seminars and networking sessions to provide members with the opportunity to communicate with other industries such as TV producers and directors, sound engineers, managers, agents, pluggers, writers, performers, promoters, publishers, labels, aggregators and distributors and manufacturers.
