26 million cars are registered on British roads and it’s therefore inevitable that this Bank Holiday many of us will be stuck listening to music in our cars.

Ellis Rich, Chairman at PRS for Music, said: “Bank holidays can be stressful times if you’re stuck in a traffic jam but picking the right song can help.   The results clearly show that even if you’re queuing on the motorway the right tune can alleviate the boredom and remind you of the open road.”

* The chart is based on a survey of 1,000 UK respondents conducted by PRS for Music.
