PRS for Music Announcement
PRS for Music has announced that Steve Porter will be leaving the organisation on Friday 17th July 2009. The Boards feel that as the business faces new challenges, a new set of skills is required to take PRS for Music forward.
Steve has made an invaluable contribution over his 10 years of loyal service to PRS for Music. Steve joined in 1999 as Director of Finance, moving on to Executive Director of Finance, then Managing Director. Steve was appointed Chief Executive in April 2007, where his vision and drive has made a significant impact in improving many areas of the business.
A new permanent Chief Executive will be appointed after a thorough search and review of internal and external candidates.
In the interim period PRS for Music is pleased to announce that Jeremy Fabinyi, Managing Director MCPS, has agreed to become Interim/Acting Chief Executive. With a strong background and experience in international collecting societies, Jeremy joined in 2005. Over his four years at the organisation, he has acquired an in depth knowledge of the business through his responsibility for MCPS, and previously Broadcast & Online on an interim basis. PRS for Music has every confidence that Jeremy is an excellent choice to ensure a smooth handover, retaining the stability, focus and direction of the organisation.
