MusicWorks
New research undertaken for MusicWorks has shown that playing music at work can have real benefits for businesses; boosting profits, attracting new customers and increasing productivity.

MusicWorks asked 2000 people about the demand for and impact of music in a range of public and commercial places (including pubs, hotels, high street shops, gyms, hairdressers, offices, factories and warehouses.)
Music can increase profits
• More than a third of customers would be willing to pay 5% more for products and services from businesses that play music - across a number of industries, from retail to pubs, bars and restaurants.
Music means more customers
• 81% of customers that visited hair salons said they would like to hear music and of that, 77% said a hair salon playing good music is more inviting.
• 70% of people would pay more to go to a restaurant that plays music rather than a restaurant with no music.
Music works for your staff
• 66% of employees surveyed believed that music made them feel better and more motivated at work, with over a quarter stating that they would be less likely to ‘take a sickie’ if music was played at work.
• 77% of staff say they are more productive when good music is being played. (This rises to an overwhelming 83% of warehouse workers).
The research included the use of music in pubs, bars, hotels, high street shops, gyms, hairdressers, sports stadia, offices, factories and warehouses.
