Your personal login keeps your online accounts safe and secure. We protect your digital services with various security protocols and firewalls, which we continually review and update.
*The only exception is MCPS B distributions – if you’re an MCPS member, you will still receive these statements by post or email.
Minimum payments
To help keep our processing costs as low as possible, we don't pay out on royalties below £30, although we reduce this threshold to £1 for the distribution in October.
If your royalties are paid into a bank account that's outside of the UK, we don't pay out on royalties below £60 until the December distribution.
If you get paid a distribution, you can check your latest royalty total whenever you log in to your account.
Admin Rates
As a membership organisation, we cover the cost of collecting music royalties through our admin rates. We work on continually improving our systems each year so we can keep these as low as possible and we are one of the most cost-effective collecting societies in Europe.
Back Claims
Back claims allow members to claim for historic use of their music. There are rules around when you can claim, take a look at the page below for more information.
Understanding your MCPS statements
If you receive royalties from MCPS, the following documents will help you to understand the various codes that are used in your MCPS statements:
MCPS commission rates
MCPS charges commission on the revenue we collect to cover our operating costs, incurred in the normal course of business.
MCPS source type codes
MCPS royalty payment statements use a numbering system to identify different royalty sources. These are referred to as 'Source types' on your statement. Each number code corresponds with a particular royalty source.
Usage group codes
BBC usage distribution codes
Sky usage distribution codes
How often will you receive a royalty statement?
You should receive a statement whenever a payment is made to your bank account. Please do log in and raise a query if this hasn't happened.
