Cinema royalties
We pay royalties for our members' music that’s used in films, cinema ads, idents for cinema chains and cinema foyers.
How we calculate
Music used in films
Film companies provide us with cue sheets or consignment notes, which detail the music they have used. We use the duration of the music and the official box office receipts for each film to calculate the royalties.
Search cue sheets
Cue sheets show details of all the music used within a TV programme or film, and are usually supplied to us by broadcasters.
You can use the tool below to search for cue sheets that have been submitted for productions and films broadcast six months ago or more.
If you need to report a problem with a cue sheet use our help portal.
Music used in cinema ads
We calculate royalties for ads using data from the UK's largest supplier of cinema advertising, Digital Cinema Media.
Music used in cinema idents
We agree the value of the music used for each ident with the cinema chain and pay royalties depending on how many times the ident is played.
