PPL, PRS for Music and PRS Foundation bring OnTrack to The Great Escape

OnTrack networking and educational hub will feature panels and in-conversations with some of the brightest UK talent.

PPL, PRS for Music and PRS Foundation are joining forces at The Great Escape (TGE) to deliver a packed one-day programme of networking, member surgeries and educational sessions via ‘OnTrack’ - a takeover at Brighton Harbour Hotel on Friday 13 May.

OnTrack provides music creators and industry professionals with the practical knowledge needed to make strides in their career and offers the opportunity to meet with others across the industry. The takeover kicks off at 10:30am with a networking brunch, where TGE delegates are invited to meet members of the PPL, PRS for Music and PRS Foundation teams.

OnTrack activities taking place throughout the day include:

• An ‘In-conversation’ between PRS Foundation International Showcase Fund and PPL Momentum Music Fund supported band, Yard Act and BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Steve Lamacq.
• A panel on ‘Staying Local: Building your music career in your hometown’, featuring PPL Momentum Accelerator grantees Chiedu Oraka (Yorkshire-based music creator) and Abby Meysenburg (Liverpool-based industry professional).
• On hand advice and support from PPL, PRS for Music and PRS Foundation on how they can support music creators and their aspirations at different stages of their careers.

 The trio of organisations will also host their annual drinks party from 3pm-5pm, offering the opportunity to network with music professionals from various corners of the business while enjoying DJ sets from PRS Foundation Talent Development Partner organisations FOCUS Wales, Wide Days, the Oh Yeah Music Centre and Music:Leeds. The day will conclude with a live performance from Ivor Novello Rising Star Award winner and PPL Momentum Music Fund supported artist Mysie.

PPL and PRS for Music license the use of music and collect royalties in the UK and around the world, with each company representing different rightsholders. PPL collects and distributes money on behalf of performers and recording rightsholders e.g. record companies and self-releasing artists for the use of their recorded music when it is broadcast or played in public.
