Tech veteran Nigel Hall joins PRS for Music as COO
As digital continues to drive industry growth, PRS for Music brings on board tech expertise
PRS for Music has hired Nigel Hall, formerly Managing Director at KPMG UK, as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.
At KPMG UK, Nigel was Client Lead Partner and Lead Subject Matter Expert for a number of KPMG’s technology, media and telecoms accounts building on more than 20 years of experience including, leading the launch of Orange internationally and founding his own company, Interim-Consulting Ltd, to focus on his passion for start-ups.
In 2016, PRS for Music processed 4.3 trillion lines of data, as streaming contributed to the global growth in music consumption. Nigel’s background in digital growth is well-placed to assist PRS in its own technological evolution, as the leading global collecting society continues to handle vast increases in data each year.
PRS for Music celebrated a record-breaking year in 2016, in no small part thanks to our investments in technology and data, which are becoming ever more integral to the music business. It is therefore my pleasure to welcome Nigel to PRS for Music. We look forward to having his digital expertise on hand to steer us through a time of continuing growth and transformation, not just for us, but for the industry as a whole.
Having worked with household names like Orange and O2 in the telecoms sector, I am delighted to be joining an organisation that champions the rights of some of the biggest names in music. These are incredibly exciting times for the industry, not least for our members, and I am looking forward to helping PRS for Music continue to lead in its field.
Nigel replaces Craig Nunn, who departed PRS for Music in July 2017 after six years with the company.
