PRS for Music is delighted to announce Paula Foskett of One.a Salon, Caernarfon Wales as the winner of this year’s £5k Sound Makeover, a competition that offers salon managers and owners across the UK the chance to improve their sound and music facilities.
PRS for Music will team up with sound expert and renowned music producer, Steve Levine, to transform at One.a Salon into a music haven with top of the line sound equipment and a launch party to celebrate the efforts of Paula and her staff.
We want to raise awareness to help our licensees use music to its full advantage to help set their salon apart within this competitive industry. We were very impressed with Paula’s creative ideas, her enthusiasm for music and genuine passion to use her salon for community events and fundraising. The interest and passion of Paula's staff also really stood out within the sound makeover competition and how it could enhance their daily working lives. We are confident that her prize money, alongside the expert advice of Steve Levine will really help to make a difference for Paula and her business.
It has been such a wonderful experience to see salon managers and owners across the UK show such passion towards enhancing their businesses through the power of music. I've been delighted to be involved in bringing the hair and beauty industries and music together while raising awareness of PRS for Music and what it stands for. The judging process for Sound Makeover was not easy but we were very impressed with Paula’s creative ideas to use her salon for community events and fundraising.
As someone who has worked in a salon and understands the hairdressing industry, it comes as no surprise to see the value that music provides to small businesses. I am thrilled to be involved in an initiative such as the PRS for Music Sound Makeover that offers salon managers and owners across the UK the opportunity to improve their music facilities. I congratulate Paula and her team for their terrific efforts and commitment to business excellence.
