New Online Music Licences
PRS for Music today released the first stage of its new Online Music Licences
PRS for Music today released the first stage of its new Online Music Licences which will replace the Joint Online Licence that expires at the end of June 2009. The first stage of the proposed new licences covers the rates charged for download services and services funded by subscription, following extensive consultation with the music industry. Rates that PRS for Music collect and pay to its songwriter, composer and music publisher members for these licences will remain the same as designated by the Copyright Tribunal 2007.
The second stage of the new Online Music Licences, covering streaming services, will be released shortly following further consultation by PRS for Music and its digital licensees.
