PRS for Music announces Beatport licensing deal

PRS for Music has announced that it has signed a licensing deal with leading music download store Beatport.

PRS for Music is pleased to have concluded licensing matters with Beatport. As an influential and fast growing digital store, it is of vital importance that our members receive the applicable royalties for the use of their works within the service.

PRS for Music represents music from over 60,000 songwriters, composers and music publisher members. In addition to the repertoire PRS for Music represents for the UK, the licence provides Beatport with access to Pan European rights for Warner Chappell and Peer Music as well as access to a range of performing rights from PRS for Music members on a Pan-European basis.

Beatport is happy to support the songwriters, composers and music publishers represented by PRS for Music. Being the leading company in the electronic music download space, Beatport hopes this agreement will set a new standard for other worldwide download sites, helping to ensure songwriters are paid properly for their compositions.
