Inn at Lathones voted best UK Pub for Music
Music Pub of the Year Award
Held annually, the Music Pub of the Year Award is one of several accolades given out during The Publican Awards to reward excellence in the licensed trade industry.
The awards ceremony took place last night at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
The Music Pub of the Year Award recognises the pub that makes the most of music. The judges were looking for a real commitment to music that attracts new customers and keeps them entertained whilst at their venue. PRS for Music has proudly sponsored this award for 12 years.
Set in a big barn filled with music memorabilia, The Inn at Lathones hosts an extensive schedule of live gigs across a range of genres including hard rock, gypsy jazz, bluegrass and folk.
The Inn provides music tuition for small groups with guitar, singer-songwriter and harmonica lessons taught by successful established musicians. The venue has also partnered with their local college to run a series of events to promote music including a recent X-Factor style event where three of the winners won to opportunity to showcase at this years Fifestock festival.
As well as focusing on nurturing new musical talent, The Inn also invite established international acts perform at the venue, which has proven popular for music fans who prefer to hear bands in an intimate setting.
Winning the Music Pub of the Year Award is fantastic for the industry of live music itself in Great Britain, it's great for Scotland, it's great for the Inn at Lathones and it's a real endorsement from PRS for Music. Live music is the background and the base of all music. I think staging and promoting music is very hard and the Inn at Lathones is grateful for the artists and the people that come and watch the music.
Music as a live product is not dead, it's something that people can live by. Musicians are plying their trade, there are kids that are learning, we are very much involved in promoting music to younger people as well as different generations. Long live music!
