LIFE, Black Futures and Talk Show
The September 2018 edition of PRS for Music Presents took place on Thursday 20 September at our Streatham office. It featured live performances from LIFE, Black Futures and The Talk Show.
About the artists
LIFE are a four-piece punk band from Hull, England who represent the untapped anger of the British working class in 2018. With a strong DIY ethic, LIFE have developed a loyal following for their clever wordplays and energetic, engaging performances.
Influenced by punk music, underdogs and their own beautiful city, LIFE self-released their debut album Popular Music in 2017 to an enthusiastic response from press and radio including Radio 1, DIY and BBC 6 Music.
Space vibes, nihilistic party anthems and immersive experiences. Welcome, dear reader, to the weird and wonderful world of London “industrial noise-punk” duo Black Futures.
Their buoyant take on traditional industrial rock sits somewhere between Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys and Death from Above 1979, and is, they say, meant to “feel like all of existence is smacking you in the face and making you just stare in awe at its absurd diversity and scale”.
The Talk Show
Hailing from Manchester and South London, The Talk Show bring a new take on the Post Punk New Wave genre, taking inspiration from New Order, Joy Division, The Smiths, Echo, The Bunnymen and The Cure.
This exciting, dynamic band are definite ones-to-watch, having recently supported the likes of CROWS, FONTAINES DC, OUR GIRL and MELLAH at his sold out show.
