Join us in championing and celebrating you, our members, throughout October and beyond.
You can find our plans for the month below.
PRS Presents: Black History Month
Taking place on Thursday 22 October at 7pm on our YouTube channel, the event is in collaboration with PRS Foundation and will showcase the diversity of our membership and the wider Black music community.
It will include performances from GRAMMY award nominee Yola, British grime rapper, songwriter, record producer and member of the Boy Better Know collective, Frisco, Ivor Novello award winner Mysie, saxophonist Nubya Garcia and London-based rapper and singer Jelani Blackman.
As well as performances, there will also be contributions from Girls I Rate CEO and founder Carla Marie Williams, British Black Music/Black Music Congress founder Kwaku, Cr8ing Vision and Ferocious Management founder Kwame Kwaten and British singer and musician Rhoda Dakar.
There are still more performers and contributors to be announced, so keep an eye on our social media channels.
M Magazine guest editors and playlists
Each week in October will feature a different influential industry figure as a guest editor on M, to celebrate the profound influence of Black British music. Confirmed so far is writer Council Member and singer-songwriter Michelle Escoffery. Keep an eye on M Magazine for further announcements on the other guest editors.
We’ll also feature members from our Talent Identification Programme across our social media channels. This will champion our emerging music creators, shining a light on the ones to watch this year and next.
