This year's Underage Festival has been cancelled due to 'unforeseen circumstances'.

In a statement disclosing the cancellation, festival organisers said:
'Due to the Olympics we were forced into moving from our usual date and home in Victoria Park to a later date and new location in Shoreditch Park. Despite a positive start to the site move from Victoria Park and repeated assurances that production levels would be suitable for a festival of this kind, we now find ourselves in a situation where we have no choice but to cancel the event'

'Unforeseen circumstances with our site hire contract mean we are no longer able to meet production levels and we do not want to risk the safety and smooth running of an event for 13 to18 year olds.'

A festival designed for the demographic of teens mentioned above, Underage Festival has historically made live music accessible to young people who ordinarily would not be able to get into gigs and festivals due to alcohol being served on the premises. Tribes, Spector, Maverick Sabre, Pulled Apart by Horses and Foals were just a few of the acts meant to be playing at the festival.

If you are a ticket holder, you can obtain a full refund from your ticket retailer. Visit the Underage Festivals website for more information.
