Wolf Alice, Calvin Harris and the Libertines were among the winners at the UK Festival Awards 2014.

Taking place at London’s Roundhouse on 1 December, the awards were set up to celebrate the achievements of the festival circuit.

Reformed rockers the Libertines received the prize for headline performance of the year after their set at British Summer Time in Hyde Park.

Newcomers Wolf Alice received the gong for best breakthrough act while Calvin Harris picked up the award for biggest anthem of the season with his hit Summer.

Steve Jenner, Festival Awards director, said: ‘Another outstanding summer has made this year’s voting and judging a hugely exciting but also challenging task. Not that this put off the festival going public, we’ve seen a 25 percent rise in votes with over 720,000 cast this year.

‘So many events have put on an exceptional show and we’re thrilled to be able to praise many of them via the UK Festival Awards. Once more our ceremony has been a sell-out success and we’ve also sold more tickets than ever before for the festival conference.’
