The 56th Ivor Novello Awards winners

BASCA in association with PRS for Music are today delighted to announce the winners of the 56th Ivor Novello Awards.

Benjamin Drew (Plan B) has won three prizes at this year's Ivor Novello Awards. The Ivors are presented by BASCA in association with PRS for Music.

Now in their The 56th year, the Ivors took place at Grosvenor House in London on 19 May.

Benjamin Drew took home the PRS for Music Most Performed Work prize for She Said, the Album Award for The Defamation of Strickland Banks and the prestigious Songwriter of the Year title which was presented by Sir Elton John.

Legendary composer Stephen Sondheim was given the PRS for Music Special International Award, while the PRS for Music Outstanding Contribution to British Music honour went to 'The Voice', Free, Bad Company and Queen frontman Paul Rodgers.

Winning publishers included Sony, ATV Music Publishing, Universal Music Publishing, SEGA, Faber Music Ltd, BMG Chrysalis and Domino Publishing Company.

The Ivors celebrate, honour and reward excellence in songwriting and composing.  They are presented and judged by the writing community and considered amongst the most important awards for music creators.
