A new documentary about Britpop heroes Pulp will receives its UK premiere at the Sheffield Doc/Fest 2014.

PULP. A Film about Life, Death and Supermarkets, will receive its debut on 7 June at Sheffield City Hall on the first night of this year’s event.

Florian Habicht’s documentary, which debut at SXSW, features interviews with band members interspersed with live footage of Pulp’s most recent gigs as well as interviews with fans.

Members of Pulp, Florian and producer Alex Boden will all be in attendance at the first screening of the film.

Hussain Currimbhoy, director of Programming at Sheffield Doc/Fest, said: I can’t think of a better film to open this year’s fest with than Florian’s PULP. And to have the whole band together to talk about the film after the screening is going to be awesome.’

Now in its 21st year, Sheffield Doc/Fest runs June 7-12 across Sheffield and the Peak District. The full programme announced on May 8.
