The PRS Members’ Fund will finance a collaboration between Tonic Rider and Help Musicians UK to facilitate a peer support group for Black PRS members.

Set up to provide support and advice to PRS members who are experiencing difficulties, the PRS Members' fund has a long history of partnering with organisations to help songwriters, composers and their dependants navigate the challenges of life and the music industry.

Tonic Rider addresses the particular nuances of mental health in the music industry with targeted support, including training courses, workshops and wellbeing groups.

The new group aims to provide Black PRS members the space and opportunity to talk about their experiences with an accredited counsellor, allowing them to shape each session in a way that benefits them. An initial run of six 90-minute Zoom sessions begin the week commencing 19 September 2022.

The hope is that the group will create a community that can provide long-term support to each other as their careers progress. Expressions of interest are now open here.
