Over 40 artists heading to SXSW supported by PRS Foundation’s showcase fund

PRS Foundation have announced over 40 emerging music creators that have received support through the International Showcase Fund to perform at the 2019 edition of SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.

PRS Foundation have announced over 40 emerging music creators that have received support through the International Showcase Fund to perform at the 2019 edition of SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.

Funded artists heading to the festival include Art School Girlfriend, Flohio, Novelist and The Ninth Wave.

Another Sky, Big Joanie, Georgia and Howl & the Hum will also be supported through the partnership between PRS Foundation and BBC Music Introducing to showcase some of the UK’s most promising acts at the British Music Embassy.

The British Music Embassy will present seven evening and four daytime showcases at SXSW.

Additionally, Yami, Siba and Phil Cook are also being supported to attend the SXSW Songs songwriting camp.

The International Showcase Fund supports artists by enabling them to perform at showcasing festivals in international territories, and is run by PRS Foundation in partnership with International Trade, Arts Council England, British Underground, Musicians' Union and more recently Creative Scotland, PPL, Wales Arts International, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Invest NI.
